Anything but Paper- Learn what it means to create something that emphasizes color, texture, and movement without the traditional use of paper. Explore bringing images to life using a variety of supplies on different surfaces.

Art Around the World- Capture the beauty of beaches or the peaks of mountains as we take a virtual art tour of vacation spots around the world. Brightly colored beach balls, or downhill ski slopes may appear in our art getaway drawings and paintings! Aboriginal Art from Australia, Mosaics from Mexico and more! A variety of painting and mixed media will be used.

 

Avengers Cartooning- Come ready to explore and create comic strips and cartoon stories with themes you love: Minecraft, Star Wars, Avengers, Manga or your own stories. Classes will cover drawing, inking, lettering and coloring your comic stories and art. We will let our imaginations soar as we create cartoon illustrations of our all time favorites!

 

Barnyard Buddies-Draw and paint pastoral scenes and the bright eyes of cows and other friendly farm animals.

 

Clay Creations: Bumpy Bowls-Students will sculpt a clay bowl. The inside will be hand smoothed and then beautifully painted with colorful underglazes, the outside will be ornately textured with clay balls, glazed and kiln fired to create a beautifully, knobby, bumpy exterior. Food safe. Hand wash. Not for microwave use

 

Clay Studio- Follow along with one of our teachers, or create a project of your own. Projects will be hand built from terra cotta clay, underglazed and fired.

 

Fairy Tales & Dragon Scales- Journey through your imagination to a place where dragons defend castles and ogres live under bridges. Unicorns, princesses and knights in armor await in this painting and drawing adventure!

 

Great Paint Adventure- Let’s make great looking paintings using a variety of paints: watercolor, tempera, acrylic and even ink. We will mix colors and even combine different kinds of paint to create amazing, colorful paintings. 

 

Marvelous Mugs-  Make your own marvelous mug! Build, decorate and paint a mug from terra cotta clay. Mugs will be bisque fired and glaze fired, so you can use them to drink your favorite beverage.

 

Mosaic Lantern- Colored transparent glass is cut and adhered to the outside of a standing glass lantern then grouted to create a backlit, stained glass lantern. Pillar candle or battery operated candle recommended, but not included.

 

Perspective Drawing- It's not just for buildings and bridges! Students will learn the fundamentals of creating drawings with depth and perspective. Great for drawing any 3D objects and scenery. Make drawings that will pull you in!

 

Pokemon Cartooning- Use your creativity to create fun comic-style art using your favorite Pokemon characters. Create a comic page or scene featuring your choice of characters, as you learn techniques in drawing, inking, and lettering. All materials included.

 

POP Art- Using works from Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso (and others) as our inspiration we will create our own works of art using brush and ink, and a variety of painting mediums. These abstract and pop art works will be filled with bold images and colors!

Stop Motion Animation-Learn how to make your own stop motion animations! Students will design and create their own articulated paper dolls, props, and storyline to film a short stop motion video. Perfect for budding writers and filmmakers!
