Intro to Drawing

The class begins with small academic lessons that prompt students to make a complete rendered drawing. The smaller practices gradually build to give us the tools needed to create a finished drawing. Although basic lessons do repeat every session, many of the practices are unique to every class, making this a great class to retake to become completely confident in the material.

In this class we will be using Charles Bargue drawing methods to create beautiful copies of his work. This is an academic art class to learn how to accurately render form, light, and shadow, along with training the eye to interpret shapes more precisely. Students will learn the sight size drawing method, be introduced to a plum line, and use comparison measurements.
Adult Pastels
This class focuses on layering soft pastels on toned pastel paper. While laying down the colors in specific orders you learn color theory hands-on. Drawing skills are not required for this class, as most projects will be transferred. The instructor will pick new references weekly and hopes to complete 2-3 projects within the session.
